What Makes A Mother

I thought of you and closed my eyes
and prayed to God today.
I asked what makes a mother
and I know I heard him say...

"A mother has a baby."
This we know is true.
But can you be a mother
when your baby's not with you?

"Yes, you can," He said
with confidence in His voice.
"I give many women babies.
When they leave is not their choice.

Some I send for a lifetime,
and others for a day.
Some I send to feel your womb
but there's no need to stay."

I just don't understand this, God.
I want my baby here.
He took a breath and cleared His throat
and then I saw a tear.

"I wish that I could show you
what your child is doing today.
If you could see your child smile
with other children and say,

'We go to earth to learn our lessons
of love and life and fear.
My Mommy loved me oh, so much
I got to come straight here.

I feel so lucky to have a Mom
who had so much love for me.
I learned my lesson very quickly.
My Mommy set me free.

I miss my Mommy oh, so much
but I visit her each day.
When she goes to sleep,
on her pillow is where I lay.

I stroke her hair and kiss her cheek
and whisper in her ear,
"Mommy, don't be sad today.
I'm your baby and I'm here." '

So, you see, my dear sweet one,
your child is okay.
Your baby is here in my home
and this is where he'll stay.

He'll wait for you with me
until your lesson is through.
And on the day that you come home,
he'll be at the gates for you.

So, now you see what makes a mother.
It's the feeling in your heart.
It's the love you had so much of
right from the very start.

Though some on earth may not see
you're a mother with a son.
They'll be up here with me one day
and know you're the best one."

The LUMP  / Mommy
Ive got that awful lump in my throat. Look at the pics of you before you died. I think what could have been, and what would have been now for you. 

I am so scared for tomorrow, what will the day bring. I cant see past the moment they are taking your sister for surgery. How can i get threw the day.

My heart is aching, still as if it was yesterday you left. This routine i had tonight, all went too fast for me. I am not ready to go threw with her surgery.....its too familiar! The same time, same day, same place, etc....
Please be with her...I know you will! We love you. Watch your sister and dont let anything happen to her. Close

i just want to say im so sorry for your loss. you had visited my daughters site a while back and i just now got the strength to write back. I know how hard it is too lose a baby, and i too sometimes wake up and think its all just a bad dream and she'll be running around. i keep on thinking if she were still alive she would be almost 3. I'm sure you think the same thing i just want to let you know you are in my prayers, and if you ever need a friend to talk to my e-mail address is Zander_Zoey@yahoo.com. if you ever need anyone, because we've been through simalar paths.My most sincere appoligies. Cemetary / Mommy
Went to see you today, and your brother picked out the perfect tulips for you. He needed to get you a special pink one....i dont know why lately pinks his favorite color...
Your sister picked Yellow mini daffodils. They were so cute. We took them to you , and planted them between you and Bug. I actually dug them in the ground, so hopefully they will stay there for years to come. 

Your little sister was so amazed and facinated with your headstone for some reason. She kept hitting it. She liked the sounds it made i guess.

She left there with dirty as heck knees, and ruined her pants, but she loved it! We were all muddy and dirty. 

Everytime we go there...i cant believe its real. I keep thinking we will wake up one day, and it will be all a dream. As i wait for this. I sit and look at your headstone and realize 2004 was almost 3 years ago....where did the time go?
I thought it was yesterday...or last month. Not 3 years ago.

Shopping / Mommy
I went shopping tonight with Owen and Ceira, to get them little outfits for Aunt Candices wedding. It was great cause they are gonna look so cute! She said she wants you to be part of the wedding. I cant wait. She is making donations to the AHA in your memory for wedding favors instead of favors...isnt that sweet?
I cant wait. It is going to be so cute.  Its going to be so hard to go back to that church. We are having the wedding in the same place your funeral was. I havent been back since, and i dont know what its going to be like that day....One thing i can be happy for, is that i know ALL my children will be there that day, you and your sister, and your brother. Owen and Ceira are walking together, and will be hand in hand, remembering you, as we all do. I know i will shed at least a bucket full of tears that day. Be with us. I know you will. We love you!
